Campus Safety Conference - San Antonio, Texas
The Campus Safety Conferences (CPCs) are 2 1/2 day, intensive conferences that bring together security, public safety, emergency management, administration, facilities, business, and IT professionals responsible for protecting K-12 and Higher Education campuses and districts. The San Antonio event will be held July 21-23, 2021.
The Campus Safety Conference's mission is to create a community for all stakeholders to receive time-critical education and training while building peer-to-peer relationships that facilitate year-round engagement, validation, and problem-solving to improve safety and security during these ever-changing and challenging times.
The Campus Safety Conference program includes sessions focused on preparedness, response, community, mental health, leadership, and managing the media that we know is of great value to the safety and security of K-12 schools and higher education campuses.
As a key stakeholder in the safety and security of your campus, we'd like to highlight that ASR Alert Systems will be sponsoring one of two keynote speakers that you won't want to miss at CSC!
KEYNOTE SPEAKER Day #2 Dorian Van Horn - Senior Vice President for Investigative Operations, SIGMA Threat Management Associates, LLC
7:45AM, July 23, 2021, SALON E
|Post-COVID Threat Assessments: Abuse, Neglect, Anger and Suicidal Behavior
Dorian Van Horn will discuss post-COVID concerns about abuse, anger, and suicidal behaviors and how to incorporate those concerns in threat assessment investigations. Investigations can involve ongoing safety concerns to victim(s), to others on campus, to other campuses, as well as to school and university personnel. Therefore, collaboration is essential when there is a concern for an escalation of violence involving domestic violence, stalking and/or suicidal ideations.
Coordination can, and should, incorporate trauma-informed interviewing. Coordinated efforts can yield enhanced information-sharing and integrated safety efforts.
Attendees will hear why collaboration is critical and identify common areas of conflict and misunderstanding.
ASR will be speaking prior to the Keynote on July 23, 2021, at 7:45 AM in Salon E - Please JOIN US for a live interactive demonstration of the ASR Threat Alert System. To register to be a part of the live demo (don't worry, it won't require you to be on stage) - please fill out the form below.
